Family law for
real families.
I'm Jody Allard, a Washington state-licensed family law attorney. I've been through this myself — and I know that what people need most isn't just legal expertise. It's someone who listens, explains clearly, and helps you move forward.
Every family law matter,
handled with care.
Clear, affordable legal guidance across the full arc of Washington state family law — from prenuptial agreements and new partnerships to parenting plans, paternity, and divorce.
Protect what you've built and start your marriage with clarity. I draft prenups and postnups that are fair, enforceable, and tailored to your specific situation.
Moving in together? A cohabitation agreement clearly defines how you'll handle finances, shared property, and what happens if the relationship ends — before it becomes a problem.
Formation, dissolution, and everything in between. I provide guidance for domestic partners navigating their rights and responsibilities under Washington state law.
A clear, detailed parenting plan protects your children and reduces future conflict. I help you create arrangements that reflect your family's real life, not just a legal template.
Establishing legal parentage matters — for custody, child support, inheritance, and a child's sense of identity. I help parents navigate voluntary acknowledgment and court-ordered paternity proceedings.
Life changes. If your financial circumstances or parenting arrangement has shifted significantly, I can help you pursue a modification to an existing child support order.
Not ready for divorce but need legal clarity? A legal separation defines property rights, parenting arrangements, and support obligations while keeping your marriage legally intact.
Representation for both uncontested and contested divorces in Washington state. Flat fee packages available for uncontested divorces — you'll know the full cost upfront.

Family law attorney.
In your corner.
I became a family law attorney because I've lived it. Going through my own divorce taught me what people actually need from their attorney: someone who explains things clearly, responds when you reach out, and genuinely cares about the outcome.
I spent most of my career in Seattle before relocating to Phoenix, Arizona, and I've been practicing family law in Washington state since 2020. I'm a graduate of Seattle University School of Law, and I focus exclusively on helping Washington state families through some of the hardest moments of their lives.
My approach is direct and practical. I'll tell you what I think, what your options are, and what the likely outcomes look like — so you can make informed decisions without financial stress on top of an already difficult situation.
"Whether you're moving in together for the first time or ending a marriage, you deserve an attorney who actually understands what you're going through — and will fight for you without breaking the bank."
— Jody Allard, AttorneyI have personal experience with Washington state's divorce process. That means I understand what you're going through — not just legally, but emotionally. I bring that perspective to every client.
I'm based in Phoenix, Arizona, and I pass those lower living costs directly on to my clients. Quality Washington state family law representation shouldn't require a second mortgage.
I work with clients remotely across the entire state. It doesn't matter where in Washington state you're located — I can help.
I explain what's happening in plain language and keep you informed throughout. No confusing jargon, no being left in the dark wondering what's next.
What clients say.
"Thank you for all your hard work. We appreciate you so much."
"Thank you for helping our family. You have been amazing."
"Thank you for your time and all the hard work you have put in on this case."
Transparent fees.
No surprises.

If your situation involves any of these, we'll discuss an hourly arrangement during your consultation.
Filing and court fees are not included in flat fee packages. These are paid directly to the court and typically run $350–$400 in most Washington state counties.
Other matters: For contested divorces, parenting plan modifications, paternity proceedings, and other family law matters, I charge $300 per hour. Rates are discussed during your free consultation, and I'm happy to talk through flexible arrangements for clients who need them.
